Click any of the photos below to bring up a gallery of 130 photos from our trip to the mountains on Friday. It was a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid-to-high 70s. We had a picnic lunch in the picnic area (and saw wild turkey’s)…and then we went through Cades Cove Loop and saw a bunch of deer and daffodils. We can’t wait to go back again!
Last night before Maxwell arrives…..
26 OctA few minutes ago Mimi Carol and Papa George picked up Mekenzie and Stewart to keep them until Maxwell decides to join us (hopefully tomorrow). I am going into the hospital at 6 am to be induced and we will keep you updated. Below is a picture of Mimi and Papa with the “grandkids” (furry and non-furry) before they left for their house.

Maple Lane Farms (pumpkin patch)
17 OctWe went on our annual pumpkin patch trip to Maple Lane Farms today and also celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary. The weather was beautiful and we all had a great time. Mekenzie had a great time riding the train and the inflatable slide…the kid’s ferris wheel was not a hit and she jumped out before it started. Below is the photo of the photo of Mekenzie with the pumpkin man (from this year through 2007) to show how much she has grown. Click them to bring up a gallery of photos for each year.
First update attempt in a long time….
16 OctI am attempting to try and update the blog for the first time in over a year so that we will be “somewhat” caught up by the time Maxwell (Max) Brooks Herring decides to join us. I am planning on updating from today (Maple Lane Farms Pumpkin Patch/6th wedding anniversary) and will backdate the posts from there. Cross your fingers that I remember how to do this. =)

Mekenzie’s 3 year (and 3 month) checkup stats
20 NovI took Mekenzie to the doctor yesterday for her yearly checkup and she did great. She wasn’t scared at all and even after I explained that they would have to prick her finger to get some blood…she was more upset about the bandaid than anything else. She wanted it off. She kept calling her finger prick a “shot”. She weighed in at 30 pounds (in the 34th percentile) and is 38 1/4 inches tall (68th percentile).
Our annual visit to Maple Lane Farms…
20 NovWe went to check out the pumpkin patch and take a few photos….eat a little kettle corn…eat a funnel cake….buy a HUGE pumpkin….and have a great family day. Of course the day we went it was freezing and a little muddy and then a few days later it was back in the 70s, but it was a beautiful sunny day and we had fun. Click any of the photos from this year below for a gallery of 76. I have also included a photo from 2007 and 2008 so you can see how much Mekenzie has grown.
